The Vegasana natural artichokes are a totally healthy product, because they do not contain any type of additives, preservatives or added colorings.
Since the artichoke is a seasonal vegetable, but it can be enjoyed throughout the year, since it benefits from the preservation method, which represents 65% of sales, specifically 7 out of every 10 kilos of product.
Mainly the heart is preserved, whole or in halves, and packaged. The process is very delicate and only those healthy specimens are chosen, free of bumps, clean, fresh in appearance and homogeneous in colour. The artichoke is, without a doubt, one of the vegetables with the greatest number of beneficial components for the body, due to this peculiarity it is highly recommended to correctly follow the Mediterranean diet.
One of its great properties is, above all, its great antioxidant power, which helps prevent premature aging of cells and encourages organs to function properly.
The latest studies in this regard, supported by the research team of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry of theUniversidad de Murcia, confirm that this processed vegetable provides the same health benefits as the natural one. In this sense, the latest research shows that “the correct industrial processing of this vegetable does not significantly affect the antioxidant activity”, according to Nuria García, PhD researcher at the Department of Agricultural Chemistry from the University of Murcia.
